Celebrating the retired Emperor named Akihito's eightieth birthday in 2014, visit of the general public to Inui Street started in which the one-way walking route is from Sakashitamon-gate to Inuimon-gate. Walking on Inui Street is opened to the public twice a year in the late March to the early April for cherry blossom viewing, and in the late November to the early December for colored autumn leaves each of which usually lasts 9 days.
We are here in front of the starting point, Sakashitamon-gate. Just after walking through the gate, on the left hand side, we see the part of the Palace, on the right hand side, a wonderful view of Fujimi Yagura.
The part of the Palace is seen. From the spot, no entry.
From Fujimi Yagura, samurai saw Mt. Fuji in the past on such a fine weather.
The Imperial Household Agency along the street is seen.
The street is 750 meters long.
We are getting to Inuimon-gate at the end of the street. In my tours, I walked on the street with my guests several times on cherry blossom season. On those special occasions for visit to the street in the Imperial Palace Grounds, shall we go together there ?
